Proposal To Implement Changes To Our Health Care System
Dear Shale family
The Alberta government is proposing to implement changes to our health care system that will affect you.
Most of these changes will affect how patients and doctors interact regardless of which clinic or doctor you will see.
If implemented, the likely result for patients will be much shorter appointment times as well as limitations in the number of concerns that may be addressed at any individual consult.
This means that a patient will need to book numerous appointments and spend more time at the doctors office.
Right now, our doctors work with our patients to address their main concerns with each visit, while working with you to improve your health in the future.
If the proposed changes are implemented there will, without a doubt be a shift in how family physicians approach their appointments.
All of these decisions ultimately affect our family of patients. If you feel as we do that these decisions are a step in the wrong direction, we kindly ask you to talk to your local MLA and express your concerns.
Additionally we will be joining our Colleagues at Claro Family Practice who will be creating a petition that you may consider signing that will be located in the clinic. This will ultimately be sent to our local MLA Mark Smith as well as the respective minister of Health and the leader of the UCP Jason Kenney.
