If you are an emergency case requiring immediate attention, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest emergency department. If you require urgent health advice please call health link at 811.
When you arrive at the clinic the receptionist will greet you and verify your current demographic information and then seat you at the waiting room. Shortly therefore the nurse will take you the triage room where you can expect to be asked a few basic questions about the reason for your visit, she may also take your vitals and otherwise prepare you for the doctors visit. You will then be taken to the exam room to see the doctor.
New patient can be accommodated at the same day clinic or schedule an appointment with a physician who is accepting patients. You will be required to present ID and a copy of their AHC insurance card, we will open a file for you at the clinic. You may have referred yourself, have been referred by another another service. We will discuss your problem and ask about your medical history. We may request examinations and tests to assist and support our diagnosis.
If you have previous examinations and tests related to your current condition, please bring those along to the consultation alternatively you may complete a chart transfer request which we will send to your previous clinic/doctor requesting they send us the information. Also bring any copies of letters from other doctors or recent medication. It will help us to help you.
There is a Diagnostic imaging facility adjacent to the clinic with direct access from the doctor’s offices for your convenience. These services include x-ray, ultrasound, bone mineral density and mammography. CT scan, X-rays and Ultrasound are also available at the drayton valley hospital or you may be referral to a facility out of town.

Our nurses are fully trained to provide a variety of injections including: allergy, hormone, contraception, chemotherapy etc and do so under the supervision of our physicians.
Steroids, specialized injections and local anesthesia injections are administered by our Doctors.
We strongly encourage our patients to book with their family physician to provide them with their regular medication refills as this provides the best continuity of care.
In case where you may have run out or can’t wait for an appointment you may make use of the same day clinic service. Some pharmacies will even provide you and small quantity of medication to carry you over until you can see your doctor.
If you are seeing a new doctor and have already been taking drugs prescribed by your family doctor, please bring them with you to make it easier for the doctor treating you that day.
